Client feedback

We think we've got everything covered at Las Cabanes to ensure you have a great family friendly self catering holiday in SW France, But don't take our word for it. Here's just some of the feedback from our lovely guests at Las Cabanes.

What a wonderful week at this beautiful place! We stayed here with our family as a group of 7 adults a toddler and 2 babies and there was something for everyone. Julie and Steve have thought of absolutely everything. The house is large so that everyone has lots of space, the beds are very comfortable with good linen and plenty of bathrooms.

There is a massive upstairs room where it is totally safe for a 2 year old and ‘crawler’ with so many toys to keep them busy - a real bonus for tired parents! Apart from the lovely pool with plenty of loungers in the sun and shade. There is a barn attached with sitting area with outdoor gas bbq, large dining area and plenty of space for little ones. Another dining area off the kitchen too which is ideal for leisurely lunches. Enclosed shady toddler play area with play house and a slide and swings for older kids.

The pretty gite in the garden is ideal for grandparents who can escape for some peace and quiet. Julie and Steve are on hand if you need anything (they use another drive so are not intruding on your holiday). This is a comfortable and well equipped home ideal for a family group. The kitchen was extensively used during our stay and has plenty of large cooking equipment and all the baby equipment you can think of. Julie also organised the use of the local tennis courts for us and left tennis rackets and balls for us to use. Thank you so much Julie and Steve we all had a wonderful time!

Thank you Nia and family for your feedback, we are delighted you had a great time and we'd love to welcome you back.

Nia Derry,

Had an absolutely amazing time here. So peaceful and tranquil - went here with some others to write our novels and it was the perfect setting. The family provided so much useful information in the house about where to visit nearby - we visited the Latour Marliac, Bonaguil castle, went canoing on the Lot, and to nearby night markets. Honestly such a wonderful area for people looking to get away from the bustle of life for a bit! (The pool helps too). Such wonderful hosts, will be trying to visit again as soon as possible.

Kristen Cole,

We had a lovely stay during the August heatwave, the pool was a necessity! Great location away from the main roads, so very peaceful, and the kids really enjoyed stargazing at night. Steve and Julie were very welcoming and helpful.

Chris Brown,

A very enjoyable 2 week stay for our family group of 16. The weather was very hot and sunny so the excellent pool was used to its full. Plenty of fun for the little kiddies and the huge barn (outside kitchen) was great for our communal family meals. A quiet, agricultural location but within reach of plenty of markets and shops for our enjoyment and food. Beautiful place and great hosts: I would definitely recommend to other families.

WTPete 48,

We had a great family holiday at Las Cabanes. There were 18 of us (2 grandparents, 6 parents and 10 grandchildren whose ages ranged from 21 years to 18 months)
A very generous welcome pack on arrival and a warm welcome from Julie who was attentive and helpful during our stay without being intrusive.
There was an amazing range of toys and activities for all the grandchildren plus a games room which kept them occupied.
The heated swimming pool was enjoyed by all and the separate "granny annexe" was a godsend at times!
The outdoor, but covered, eating area had a gas BBQ and fridge and seated the whole family. It also provided great views of the surrounding countryside.
Local canoeing on the Lot and the Aquaparc at Agen were additional highlights for the grandchildren.
It was wonderful to be able to get the whole family together for a holiday and we certainly struck lucky with Las Cabanes.A truly memorable time and grateful thanks to Julie and Steve for the opportunity to stay there.

Arthur Skinner,

What a fantastic house and pool in a really handy area to explore the region. Really spacious top floor area had a pool table massive comfortable sofas and huge table for us all to sit at. Downstairs all the bedrooms were cool and of really good sizes and the kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need and more. Outside has seating to every side so choice to follow sun and shade and the kids were well catered for with swings, cars, pool toys and lots of baby stuff if you need it, it was great to not have to take a stroller with us , it's amazing to have that and choice of bikes to use! The pool was generous with steps, so easy for the little ones and lots of seating and shades. The hosts were perfect! There if you needed them but completely left us to it, providing a lovely welcome basket to greet us. The kids loved the guinea pigs and thanks for helping them with those. We would highly recommend this house and will look at booking again!

Sally Smith,

We had a fantastic 2 weeks at Las Cabanes. The set up was perfect for the kids, and it had everything you needed for adults too. So much space inside and out which accommodated our two families easily.
We all loved the big pool, the kids loved all the toys, books, fuzball table but most favourite were the Guinea pigs.
We were close to lots of lovely towns and the night markets at Pujols and laparade were wonderful.
The owners were there if you needed anything but not intrusive in any way.
Highly recommended for a family holiday.

Kirsty Smith,

We had a great time at Las Cabanes and found it an ideal property for a family get together with our children and grandchildren. In particular the grandchildren loved the pool. We also enjoyed boating at Castelmoron, a trip to the Ludo Parc at Nerac and also to the Happy Forest near Agen - as well as a couple of visits to Pujols. The extensive information you provided on the surrounding facilities and directions etc. were very helpful.

A Philp,

There can be few better suited places in France than Las Cabanes for a large family group. It was perfect for us - 8 adults, seven children, from 8 months to 8 years, and spanning three generations. The typically French, rustic accommodation was spacious, spotlessly clean and stocked with plenty of toys and books (and a TV!) to entertain the children, but above all the lovely swimming pool was an enormous hit where the siblings and cousins had a great time. The cottage for the senior generation was also ideal. This is not a touristy area, which was very much to our liking, but during our week's stay there was more than enough to see locally e.g. about 15 minutes away is Pujols, a stunningly beautiful hilltop village which holds a produce market and a night market each week. Excellent supermarkets and several boulangeries are all within easy distance. The surrounding countryside is idyllic - a rolling patchwork of farmland and woodland with little lanes that are virtually traffic free. Thank you, Julie and Steve, for having us to stay at Las Cabanes, you were great hosts and we had the best time.

John & Gill ,

We had a fantastic holiday here. The house was really comfortable with wonderful views. There’s everything to occupy children of all ages. Julie and steve are amazing hosts, they kept out of our way but were always on hand if we needed to ask a question. We all had a great holiday.

Sandy,

A beautiful and spacious villa with superb facilities for children that make this place the perfect go to for a chilled holiday with the family. Julie and Steve have obviously put a lot of effort into making it a home from home for families with young children and that is what makes this place stand out. My toddler was in heaven and we didn’t have to bring loads of stuff because it was already there! Big pool and wonderful dining area. Steve and Julie are very welcoming and knowledgable about the local area. There is plenty to do around the local villages but also because it has so much for kids you can just enjoy being at the villa. Thank you for having us-we hope to come back with more children next time!

Alexander Family,

Our family of 3 generations had a fabulous holiday at Las Cabanes. The pool was wonderful, there were beautiful views all around, and a choice of places to eat our meals in sun or shade or simply to relax. And the outdoor kitchen for evening meals was a real bonus. There was so much to entertain the children they were never bored. And the impressive range of equipment for babies and toddlers made it so much easier for parents. We hope to return again!

Mel and Liz,

We loved the quiet location the outdoor pool and eating areas. We had cooking washing and food facilities for 16. The views from the house are spectacular. It’s a car ride to anywhere but a good location for bike rides or walks. The small studio was a lovely asset Julie and Steve were very helpful Before and during our visit. They were on site but ‘invisible’. The house is French rustic and spotless on arrival. There are toys games books and a playground. There are small local towns restaurants and a few attractions near by but we had the hottest temperatures for years and were glad of our own extra fans at night. Would recommend as a holiday location for families with young children

M Harris,

We had a fantastic stay at Las Cabanes with plenty for all three generations of our family.

The kids (aged 4, 3 and 1) had so much to do, with a variety of floats for the stunning pool, an epic play room and chickens and sheep to feed. Less than half an hour away we could take them to animal parks, pirateland, pony riding and on a mini go-ape style tree adventure.

For the adults, the outdoor kitchen and gorgeous barn were a great place in the evening, with some great restaurants not too far away when we didn’t fancy cooking. The morning baguette and criossant run was less than ten minutes by bike.

Steve and Julie were on hand if we had any questions and introduced us and the kids to all the animals.

The perfect spot, only an hour from the airport (and with a great lake to stop at on the way) and we’d love to return.

Victoria,

Perfect place for grandparent plus children/grandchildren family holiday

Las Cabanes is a perfect place for a family holiday with children. Julie has thought of everything that might be needed even down to black out blinds and bibs! There is plenty of space, well equipped kitchen and lovely garden with superb rural views where the children can safely play. So with outings to the river beach and markets there was plenty to keep all entertained. We had a superb holiday there.

Trekker,

Just amazing. This was the easiest holiday we have ever had with children! A massive playroom full of toys and loads of outside toys, kept them busy for hours. Everything you could possibly need for children from newborn was available from blackout binds, cots, high chairs etc. No need to take anything of your own and the owners were just amazing, very much leaving yo alone to enjoy your holiday but were at hand to help out with our endless questions. Beautiful countryside too.

Leicester,

Surely as good as it gets for young children- massive care taken on safety, every possible toy, book, piece of equipment there including bikes of all sizes. A lovely pool and above all thoroughly welcoming hosts.

Polly,

We had a perfect 2 weeks in June with 4 generations of our family with us for much of the time. Both the property and location were excellent and we had one of the best ever holidays. We particularly liked the fact that we could all be together when we wanted to be, but that there was also enough space for us each to find somewhere quiet if we wanted to. Overall it was a great success and we’d thoroughly recommend it.

Banyon Family,

Magnificent house, pool and views.
A marvellous house with plenty of space, toys, play equipment, swimming pool, garden and views, in a pretty but untouristy part of France, surrounded by Bastide towns. Seven adults and three children (two of whom have special needs, and are not the easiest to cater for!) had a fantastic time.

AJW,

Perfect choice for an extended family holiday
Reviewed February 24, 2018 for a stay in June 2017
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Las Cabanes. It’s an ideal property for an extended family group such as ours. We loved having space to all be together when we wanted to be, but also enough room to be able to hide away and enjoy some peace and the wonderful views when we wanted to. It’s also a great location and wonderful for not being too touristy. So thanks: it’s been a great holiday."

Bob H,

We have just had the most amazingly relaxing week in June at Las Cabanes. We were a small group and had the whole place to ourselves. Everything with regards to children has been thought of and there was so much to keep our children entertained from feeding the guinea pigs and chickens to playing in the huge garden, looking in the pond for tadpoles and splashing in the fabulous pool. The owners Steve and Julie are perfect in that they are very quiet and discreet and only make contact if you wish them to, so the house feels very private. We hope to return.

Jenny,

I’m nervous about recommending this as highly as it deserves as I don’t want it to be all booked up before we can visit again. Steve and Julie couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. This is a beautiful old property in a lovely location and so thoughtfully well equipped. We can’t wait to go back.

Ruth,

We could not have found a better house for the children (all under 5) - In addition to the fantastic pool, there are lots of outside play areas, a playroom and animals on site.

Rachel,

We stayed at Las Cabanes as a small group and could not have been made to feel more welcome. It’s not luxurious in the sense of Mr and Mrs Smith, but that’s not the type of holiday we were looking for. We have two kids, 3 and 9 months and were on holiday with my parents. The room layout lends itself very well, providing some distance between my parents and our rooms. Our toddlers eyes lit upon arrival as she saw all the different play options and feeding the chickens was an absolute hit.
